The Inkwell Arcade comic

PERSONAL BEST

Four seconds to learn. Forty to master. He’s on hour six.

Inkwell Arcade is four rooms, four tiny games and one small red bean who stays after closing because he wants one perfect loop and refuses to get it the honest way. Nobody here is a villain. Nothing here is unfair. The joke is that the game is simple and Inkey is not.

Comic #01, Four Seconds. Day 3: Inkey explains the whole game in one breath (pop the blob when the ring gets small), then says you now know everything he knows. The timer reads 0:04. Six hours later he is buried up to his neck in spent blobs. 'It's a very short game.'
Comic #02, Perfectly Late. Ring tells Inkey to hit every blob on the beat. 'Easy.' Inkey pops all forty blobs, scoring 40 out of 40 for accuracy, but every hit lands three beats late. 'Every single time?' 'Consistency.'
Comic #03, Blot 201. Day 60: a blot apologises that every time you miss one, two more appear. 'It's fine.' The blots pile higher as Inkey keeps missing. He asks what if they just didn't multiply; they say they've thought about that every day of their lives. The panel fills completely with blots. 'Sorry.' 'It's fine.'
